Hi, my name is Jodi Brock and I am the owner of Labor Of Love Birth Services. I discovered my love for all things birthy in 1996 after giving birth to my first daughter at a freestanding birth center with midwives. Three children of my own and five years later, I became certified as a birth doula with Doulas Of North America (DONA) in April of 2000, and I served women in the Washington DC metropolitan area for several years. I certified as a childbirth educator in April 2001 with the Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth, and I taught classes to expectant couples from my Maryland home. I recieved training as a crisis pregnancy counselor in 2003, and I mentored several pregnant teenage moms during this time. My family and I moved to Arizona in 2005, and after settling in I resumed my studies by taking an introductory to midwifery course in 2006. After my eighth baby was born, I began apprenticing with a lovely local midwife in January 2010. In the summer of 2011, I had my ninth baby and took a year off to nurture him and recover from a difficult postpartum depression. During that time, I began my studies with Via Vita Midwifery Academy. I am currently a senior student midwife apprenticing with Karen Maschue of St. Raymond’s Homebirth, and am certified in CPR and First Aid as well as Neonatal Resuscitation. I am pleased to offer my services as a doula, childbirth educator, and placenta encapsulator. I live in the Phoenix area with my husband of fifteen years, our nine children, and a wide assortment of pets.
